Education and Clinical Expertise
dr. med. Enrico Capuano graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Perugia, before completing his specialization in Pediatrics at the prestigious G. Gaslini Institute in Genoa. He graduated with highest honors (summa cum laude) in both programs.

Hospital and Community Experience
Since 2007, dr. med. Enrico Capuano has been practicing pediatrics in both hospital and outpatient settings. Since moving to Canton Ticino in 2013, he has worked within the Department of Pediatrics at the Lugano and Locarno Hospitals (IPSI EOC – Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale), gaining an in-depth understanding of the Ticino healthcare system.
He subsequently collaborated with several established pediatric practices across the region, including “Il Pediatra” – Bellinzona, Dr. med. Beretta’s Pediatric Practice – Lugano, and the Centro Pediatrico di Mendrisio, providing ongoing care for a large number of children and their families over the years.
He currently sees patients at the Pediatric Practice in Paradiso, where he works in collaboration with Dr. med. Daniela Pedrazzini, continuing his clinical practice in a welcoming environment focused on continuity of care.
Since 2023, he has also served as a School Physician for the Cantonal Medical Office, where he is involved in promoting prevention, health, and well-being among school-age children and adolescents.
In addition, he collaborates with the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) as a Tutor for the Master’s Degree in Medicine, supervising medical students during their clinical training in pediatrics and helping educate future physicians in an approach to pediatrics that combines clinical excellence, professional ethics, and person-centered care.

He previously served as Secretary of the Association of Pediatricians of Italian-speaking Switzerland (APSI), contributing to the development of the cantonal pediatric network and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professionals.
